Using Essential Oils to Give Your Wool Dryer Balls the Perfect Scent

Our Handmade Organic Wool Dryer Balls can be used without any essential oils but if you want to add amazing all natural scents to your laundry a couple drops will do the trick.

In this post we are going to give you ideas for unique scents that smell fantastic and create an uplifting laundry experience. Of course the options are limitless and you can get creative and experiment with your favourite combinations.

Lavender
By far one of our most favourite essential oils! This amazing essential oil has many uses, one of which is it help to relax and calm. Adding a few drops to loads with your sheets, pillows, bedding and blankets will be sure to do just this. Let me tell you, there is nothing better than the feeling of getting into freshly washed bedding smelling of lavender. Check out our blog post on all the different uses of Lavender HERE

Eucalyptus
Perfect for towels, bathroom matts and washcloths. This essential oil will make you feel like you are at a spa every time you bathe. It also compliments many shampoos and soaps which makes it our number one choice for any bathroom related laundry.

Balsom Fir
We enjoy using this essential oil for our day to day washing (clothes) as its both invigorating and calming. It adds a fresh scent making it especially perfect for more heavily soiled loads (ex. gym clothes).

Citrus
I love using lemon, orange and grapefruit essential oils for my kitchen laundry as it smells so fresh and clean. I also make my kitchen cleaners with these scents so having my towels and dishcloths match the scent always puts a smile on my face.

How to:
To add a scent to your wool dryer balls simply drop 4-10 drops of your preferred oil onto each ball, let them dry for a moment and then toss them in the dryer with your clothes or linens. Then stand back and enjoy the naturally fresh smelling laundry. I find I have started to enjoy folding a lot more since wool dryer balls came into my life.

Stronger scents will last for a couple of cycles. If you over scent a ball its no problem, you can simply throw the balls in the washer or leave it out in the open air to let the oil absorb deeper into the ball while it does double duty by making your room smell wonderful.

We hope you enjoyed this post.
